If you’ve ever thought about booking a boudoir session but talked yourself out of it, you’re not alone.

Almost every woman who walks into the studio has had at least one moment where she thought:

“Maybe I’m not ready.”

Boudoir session fears show up in different ways, but the underlying concerns are often the same. Let’s talk honestly about the ones I hear most often.

“I Don’t Know How to Pose”

This is by far the most common worry.

The truth is that posing isn’t something clients are expected to know. Every pose is guided step-by-step, with clear direction and encouragement throughout the session. Jodi will even model the pose for you so you are 100% clear on what she's looking for you to do.

You’ll never be left wondering what to do next.

“I’m Not Confident Enough”

Confidence is something people assume they need before booking.

In reality, many women book specifically because they want to feel more confident.

Confidence grows through the experience itself — through being supported, celebrated, and seeing yourself in a new light. We love nothing more than so see women come in nervous and watch their light shine more and more throughout the session.

“I’m Nervous I Won’t Like the Photos”

This fear usually comes from years of being overly critical of ourselves.

Boudoir photography is different from quick snapshots or phone photos. Lighting, posing, and intentional direction all work together to highlight your natural beauty in a way that feels authentic.

Most clients are surprised by how much they love their images. Jodi hears often during the gallery reveal and ordering session that "this is so hard to choose". That's a great compliment.

“What If I Feel Awkward?”

Feeling a little awkward at first is normal. It’s part of stepping into something new.

But that awkwardness rarely lasts long. With guidance, encouragement, and a comfortable environment, most women relax within the first few minutes.

And once that happens, confidence begins to show up naturally.

Fear doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do something.

Sometimes it simply means the experience has the potential to change the way you see yourself.
