HER STORY
Tara had wanted to do this for years.
Not months. Years.
But every time the thought came up, so did the conditions. I'll do it when I lose the weight. When I'm in better shape. When I feel more ready. When I look more like the version of myself I think I'm supposed to be.
The years went by. The conditions never quite got met. The version of herself she was waiting for never quite showed up.
So finally — she stopped waiting for her and looked into boudoir photography for body acceptance.
"I had always wanted to do a boudoir session, but didn't have the courage — I thought I had to lose weight, get in better shape first."

BEFORE THE SESSION
How were you feeling before your session?
A bit nervous but also excited.
What was the biggest thing you were nervous about?
If I would look OK and not fat.
I'm going to let that sit for a moment — because it's the thing so many women are afraid to say out loud, even to themselves. The fear isn't really about the camera. It's about confirmation. About seeing what we've been told, or told ourselves, reflected back.
What the camera actually shows is almost always something else entirely.
DURING THE SESSION
What surprised you most?
How much fun it was and how relaxed I became.
Fun. That word shows up again and again in these stories, and I love it every time. Because this is supposed to be joyful. It's supposed to feel good. It's not a medical procedure or a performance review — it's an experience designed to celebrate exactly who you are, right now, in this body, in this life.
SEEING HER IMAGES
How did you feel when you saw your images for the first time?
I was surprised at how good I looked. Angles, images, makeup — everything was on point!
Tara came in braced for confirmation of her fears. She left with proof that she'd been wrong about herself this whole time.
"I was surprised at how good I looked."
THE SHIFT
Has anything shifted in how you see yourself?
I did notice a shift in my confidence and how I carried myself.
This is what I want women to understand about these sessions: the images are the artifact, but the confidence is the point. Tara carries herself differently now. That doesn't wash off in the shower.
HER WORDS TO YOU
What would you say to a woman who's on the fence?
Just do it! There's a reason you want to do it — just go with it and do it for yourself. Huge confidence booster.
What does "confidence" mean to you now?
Feeling good about me — inside and out.
A NOTE FROM BEHIND THE LENS
Tara waited years. And I understand why — I really do. The voice that says "not yet, not like this" is loud and it sounds reasonable.
But here's what I know after doing this work: there is no version of you that is more deserving of this than the one standing here right now. The weight doesn't need to change. The shape doesn't need to change. The timing doesn't need to be perfect.
You just have to decide to stop waiting.
Tara did. And she's still carrying that decision with her every day.
Ready to Have Your Own FIERCE Moment?
Every woman in this series felt nervous. Every single one. And every single one walked away changed.
If Melissa's story — or Suzanne's, or Lindsey's, or April's, or Tara's — sounds familiar, that's not a coincidence. That's recognition.
You don't have to be at your best. You don't have to have lost the weight, or feel confident, or know what to wear. You just have to decide to show up for yourself.
Sessions are limited. Reach out today to start the conversation.
