Mother, Daughters, and a Boudoir Studio: What My Girls Taught Me About Confidence

When I started AFH Media, LLC and Embrace Boudoir by AFH, I didn't imagine my daughters would one day be part of it. Now Kendra and Brielle are the reason so much of it runs, and working beside them has changed how I think about what I do.

Why this work matters more with them here
Every woman who sits in front of my camera is someone's daughter. Many are someone's mother. So many of them tell me they spent years putting themselves last. Watching my girls grow into confident women, I think about what I want them to see: a mom who believes every woman deserves to see herself as beautiful, and who built something around that belief.
Meet Kendra
Kendra is the first voice many of you hear from when you join our VIP group. She sends every welcome message, keeps our community posts going, and tracks the details that keep this business organized. Her go to comfort food is pasta (always) and her show to watch is Chicago PD. What I love most about working with her: our work team meetings. I love her insight on things and ideas on how we can better the group and get things moving more! It's also awesome to see her confidence grow working with women that she sees grow as well.
Meet Brielle
Brielle is the reason Embrace has a home on TikTok. She creates and tracks our content there and helps me understand what our community responds to. She tracks my leads and calls and bookings. She's seen your name and knows when things are going well and picking up and when they aren't. Brielle loves staying active, playing lacrosse at the University of Iowa, where she attends for physical therapy and crocheting when she has some free time. What I love most about working with her: is her way of seeing things and the bigger picture. She accomplishes so much and is amazing at getting it done. I don't know how she does everything she does with the amount of hours that she has to do it in. She's a crazy hard worker!
What they've taught me
Having my girls be a part of my business, in one way or another, for the last 10 years, has been such a blessing. They started as my muses, allowing me to photograph them in exchange for ice cream or time at the playground we were shooting at, to them doing my financial Friday's and now all they do for me behind the scenes. They have helped me grow and stay strong and given me words of encouragement when my business wasn't doing as good as I was hoping it would be. They are my reason why. The encouragement they have given me as they see my images of clients get better over the years is always a boost.
A small invitation
If you have a daughter, a mom, a sister or a best friend who has always lifted you up, tag her in our VIP group this week. And if you've been waiting to do something just for you, this might be your sign. Clients are welcome to bring a female friend for support. We LOVE having a cheering section.
