START BY TELLING ME WHO YOU ARE? WHERE ARE YOU FROM? GIVE ME A SHORT BIO OF YOU AND YOUR LIFE.
I was born & raised in Upstate NY. My father was a Doctor of Chemistry and my mom a local artist - hence, I equally love math & art and because of that I experienced some career-planning strife. After majoring in chemistry in college, I cut my teeth in business and never looked back. It provides an outlet for both the logical & creative side of me. My career brought me to Central PA a little over 20 years ago and I fell in love with the man who became my husband, Dan. We have three fabulous children, Tori, Daniel, and Sophia. I love my family, my friends, my career, my colleagues...and I get up with a pep-in-my-step almost every day.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE?
Having the wisdom to know that you really don't know.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?
Personally, my greatest achievement was making the decision mid-career to be a stay-at-home mom for a few years before the two youngest went to school. It was the hardest financial and professional sacrifice as well as the hardest work. Looking back, it was the most rewarding time in my life (and still is).
Professionally, my greatest achievement was walking on stage in front of a thousand people from all over the country to accept my one of my former company's highest national awards. I had earned the award as the #1 ranked leader in the Northeast, beating out 54 other company leaders on a balanced, annual scorecard. It took 3 years of hard work & perseverance and I owe it to the fantastic, dedicated team of managers and workers on my team.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING THAT YOU HAVE CHECKED OFF YOUR BUCKET LIST?
Taking my family to Seoul, Korea
WHAT TRAIT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
I am most proud of having a lot of passion and perseverance.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?
I try not to think about them.
IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I am working on not overthinking things...not allowing my mistakes (big or small) to haunt me beyond their original significance.
WHEN, IN YOUR LIFE, HAVE YOU FELT MOST CONFIDENT, AND WHY?
To be vulnerable here, I have struggled with confidence - which might be surprising to a lot of people who know me. I think the times I have felt most confident in my life have been in business when I have had a positive impact in a company and in the lives of my team members. Once, I hired and trained a young single mom. I helped her plan financially to get on her feet, be able to take care of her daughter, and to buy her own house. I believed in her and was confident she could do it and sustain it. It changed her life and also built my desire to help others be the best versions of themselves. She became one of my best team members.
WHEN, IN YOUR LIFE, HAVE YOU FELT MOST CONFIDENT, AND WHY?
Speaking in front of a large audience of my peers. You know you've made it when your peers recognize you for your talents, insight and leadership.
HAVE YOUR PERCEPTIONS OF WHAT BEING "ATTRACTIVE" MEANS CHANGED OVER TIME? WHAT DO YOU DEFINE AS ATTRACTIVE NOW?
Smiling, kindness, having a happy disposition, laughing at yourself and with others, loving people when they don't deserve it, giving others grace...and of course a good mascara helps!
