The Barn at Silverstone | Central PA Wedding Venues

When we’re hired to photograph or video a wedding, we haven’t always been to the venue that our couple has chosen. It’s tough to walk into a place, site unseen, and give our couple’s the best of us, so we’ve decided to visit some Central PA wedding venues, get a tour, capture some pictures and hear their story. This will give us the lay of the land prior to your big day so that we can make the best suggestions on locations for pictures to give you the exact look that you’re going for. Where should you have the first look? How about the bridal party photos? And then there’s always the sunset images that everyone wants. Where will work best? AFH Media has you covered.

Wedding Venue Visit

Jodi visited The Barn at Silverstone and met with co-owner, Miranda, for a tour and to hear how it all started. The day she visited, they were having a tasting for their 2023 couple’s. All of their booked couple’s are invited to come to the venue and taste test the food offerings to see what they would like to choose for their special day!

Miranda gave Jodi a tour and told her how the wedding venue started. Nick and Miranda (owners) were to be married in 2015 and decided to have their wedding at The Barn at Silverstone. Miranda’s parents operated the establishment as an Inn, which just closed at the end of 2022.

We started our tour at the new bridal salon. This old farm house has been renovated to give bride’s a beautiful room to get ready for their special day. 6 styling stations on a handmade, one of a kind table, dressing room, coffee bar and restroom. This building is totally separate from the groom's lounge and any of the ceremony sites to help keep the groom from seeing the bride before the wedding.

The groom's lounge is a large, industrial room, perfect for all the men in your party to relax and interact as they prep for the “I do’s”.

We then visited the Hay Barn. A beautifully romantic indoor ceremony space next door to the groom's lounge. White chairs line the sides of the isle leading up to a rustic wood backdrop with candles. Jodi thought the clear umbrellas in the back “closet” were a wonderful touch to the services that The Barn at Silverstone offers.

On to the Stables. This cocktail hour location holds the rustic feel of a stable with the modern touches of lighting and decoration. The old troughs are used for appetizer displays and a wonderful nook allows a great place for presents.

Just outside of the Stables is the rustic pavilion and limestone fireplace, an option for your outdoor ceremony. The pavilion houses a fire pit and the fireplace overlooks the pond and fountains.

Last, but certainly not least, is The Barn Hall. The owner’s were careful to preserve the old beams and stone of the barn, giving it a facelift and adding to the overall rustic charm. Gorgeous lighting and design add to the beauty of this location. The smaller bridal suite and restrooms are also located off of this room.

The Barn was set up for the tasting event for the couple’s, so your setting may look different for your wedding day.

We just captured the buildings of The Barn at Silverstone, with the exception of the solar panels, but there is so much more to explore on the grounds. A gorgeous corkscrew willow tree, the walnut grove with a gazebo and the sheep house.

This Lancaster wedding venue is a gorgeous location for your special day. Miranda was a wonderful host and tour guide. It’s so neat to hear the stories of places and how they got started!
