Vicki is a 46 year old Vice President of Customer Experience for HB Home Services. Vicki was a pleasure to get to know and blessed me with a touching story about her son. If you even meet her, ask her about it and watch her mama heart swell right out of her chest.
START BY TELLING ME WHO YOU ARE? WHERE ARE YOU FROM? GIVE ME A SHORT BIO OF YOU AND YOUR LIFE.
I was born and raised in Hershey/Harrisburg, PA. I currently reside in Carlisle, PA with my husband, Korey and our fur baby, Zoey Jane. We have one son who is 23 years old who recently married last year so we welcomed in a new Daughter-in-Law as well. I have been with my employer, HB Home Services for 23 years and am the VP of Customer Experience specializing in HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical services to Central PA and Maryland. I enjoy spending time with my family, fitness (cardio & weight training) pushing myself to the next level, photography, vintage/antique shopping, traveling to the Caribbean and spending time on our West Virginia farm.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING YOUR AGE?
I have learned to love who I am, accept the lines, wrinkles and grays as they come and not worry about what others may think. I have always said, "You have to love yourself to love others" and I truly believe and live this.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?
My greatest achievement besides raising my son & watching him build his own career as a business owner after battling cancer, I would have to say is building my career with one company for over 23 years, recently promoted to our Senior Leadership Team as a Vice President. I learned the value of working hard at a young age in my parent's family business that has molded me into having a great work ethic, respect for others and to push through any challenges that are presented.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING THAT YOU HAVE CHECKED OFF YOUR BUCKET LIST?
A trip on a hot air balloon ride.
WHAT TRAIT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
My positivity. I am always smiling which helps me to be seen as approachable and having a positive mindset helps me get through many challenges.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?
My greatest fear is of heights. I do not do well with being at high heights without any type of flooring under me. I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone a few times with this when we zip lined high above the rain forests on a few of our Caribbean trips. Learning to face my fears.
IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
To continue working on "being in the now". With all the daily distractions we have in our lives, I would like to continue to work on focusing on being present in the moment.
WHEN, IN YOUR LIFE, HAVE YOU FELT MOST CONFIDENT, AND WHY?
After I had my heart procedure in 2014, I felt more confident to live life without worrying so much about every little thing going on in my body. I could go to the gym without worrying of becoming lightheaded or passing out in the mornings. I could stop worrying about not being able to play with my son at that time. I started taking up running, which I never did before. I have completed over 15 5K's and am working on my next goal of completing my first 10K this year by the time I turn 47 this summer.
HAVE YOUR PERCEPTIONS OF WHAT BEING "ATTRACTIVE" MEANS CHANGED OVER TIME? WHAT DO YOU DEFINE AS ATTRACTIVE NOW?
Being attractive to me is two fold. A person can have outer beauty that is seen by the eye but if they do not possess inner beauty (a personality that captures the heart) then it definitely changes my view on someone being attractive.
