In January, 2022, AFH Media, LLC launched our FIERCE Over 40 project for women in Central PA that are over 40. Since then, we've had 15+ women in the studio of this Portrait photographer's studio. We have loved meeting every one of them.
Today, we'll introduce you to Paula. Paula is a Mechanicsburg area 50 year old Graphic Designer & Marketing Director.
Each of the women that participate in the FIERCE Over 40 project are given a questionnaire to help us get to know them and their story better. Below you will see Paula’s favorite pictures and her questionnaire answers.
We asked her to tell us who Paula is, where she’s from and a short bio of her life:
“My parent’s families are both from York County, however my brothers & sisters and I were all raised in State College. I’m the youngest of 5 and a good deal younger than my siblings, I was definitely unplanned, my parents were both around 40 when I was born. A lot of family difficulties and dysfunction however, we all managed to survive, although I wouldn’t say thrive. Was always a creative child/adult but never motivated or guided, trying to do better with actually completing goals. Previously married for 9 years and with current SO for six years. Have pets (dog and cat), and try to support charities that mean something to me including animal rescue, breast cancer, food banks, etc.”
What is the best thing about being your age?
“Not caring so much about what other people think.”
What is your greatest achievement?
”Finishing a design degree despite a difficult journey”
What is your favorite thing that you have checked off of your bucket list?
“Honestly not sure I have a list specifically.”
What trait are you most proud of?
“Creativity”
What is your greatest fear?
“Leaving this life before doing the creative things I want to do.”
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
“Procrastination”
When, in your life, have you felt most confident and why?
“34. Single. Active. Felt pretty good mentally, physically and emotionally.”
Have your perceptions of what being “attractive” means changed over time? What do you define as attractive now?
“Happy and healthy.”
